Cal Poly’s chemistry fraternity, Alpha Chi Sigma (AXE) hosted their annual Pie-A-Professor fundraiser. Jeffrey won the raffle to pie Dr. Hamachi, and Dr. Hamachi got to “revenge pie” Jeffrey back! Congratulations to AXE on hosting a successful fundraiser!

We had a great time at the 2025 Chemistry and Biochemistry Department Picnic! Dr. Hamachi and the ACS club hosted a fun polymer spherification activity for kids. Thanks to the ACS club for putting on a great event.

The Hamachi Group goes to the Spring 2025 American Chemical Society Meeting in San Diego, CA. Undergraduate students Hannah Negri, Jeffrey Johnson, Zoe Jackson Delos Angeles, and Jackson Arroyo presented posters, and Dr. Hamachi gave an oral presentation in the Primarily Undergraduate Nano Cooperative (PUNC) Symposium. We enjoyed getting to catch up with lab alumna Daisy Kamp, who is currently pursuing a PhD at UC Irvine with Elizabeth Lee.
